The Adventure Begins
Of all places, Beckie and Kyla met at the their local ski hill during their boys' first ski lessons in early January, 2020. Both families had just moved to the New Castle area in hopes of providing a better quality of life for their families, much of which involved the outdoors, and access to the RIVER. "New Castle just felt right!"
The people, the community and of course the river drew both families in. Beckie, a long time fly fisher-woman and entrepreneur fell in love with the trout fishing along the lower Colorado. Kyla, a native to Colorado has enjoyed rafting and stand up paddle boarding for years and dreamt of the day when she could smell, hear and see the river every day.
Their friendship, partnership and DREAM of owning and sharing Colorado Drifters in tiny New Castle, Colorado didn't take long. After talk of kids, coffee, and the RIVER, both Beckie and Kyla saw the immediate need and desire for two things in town:
A GREAT CUP O' JOE & FLIES!
The river provides so many things, but above all it brings life to all communities. Like the river, the idea of having a space to bring people of all walks of life together is the concept behind Colorado Drifters. ALL ARE WELCOME. The Colorado River and the community not only brought Beckie and Kyla together, but a dream to fruition, and a life of happiness; so it stands that
RIVER is LIFE.
